Biography
I lead CHI's Methods and Analytics team, overseeing research, data analysis, and statistical methods to support health informatics. I manage a team of analysts, drive research projects, and ensure we deliver high-quality insights. I also manage capacity planning and performance to keep our team strong and effective. I’m fortunate to work with a highly skilled team of biostatisticians. They bring deep expertise in statistical analysis and health data, playing a key role in our research and decision-making processes.
My research focus is on “methods” in health research. As the previous Associate Director for the SPOR Methods and Development platform, I supported researchers in Alberta in terms of methodology. For several decades, I have provided database support to the Alberta Provincial Project for Outcome Assessment in Coronary Heart Disease (APPROACH) research group. I also have extensive knowledge of analysis using administrative databases (DAD, NACRS, etc). I bring expertise in database management & analysis, particularly in APPROACH, as a Data Scientist. My publications have focused on the methodology for collecting and analyzing data.
I am a World Health Organization Family of International Classifications (WHO-fic) Quality and Safety Working Group and Morbidity Reference Group member. As Associate Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre at the University of Calgary, I manage the many projects related to the WHO family of classifications' classifications, terminologies, and standards.
