Projects
Recovery on Campus Alberta (ROC), coordinated through the University of Calgary Recovery Community (UCRC), serves as the central hub for campus recovery programming in Canada. Together, these initiatives create a supportive, recovery-friendly environment across Alberta’s post-secondary institutions.
The program is peer-led and peer-driven, offering connection, mentorship, and advocacy for students, faculty, and staff who are in recovery, seeking recovery, or exploring their relationship with substance use or process addictions. By centering lived experience, ROC and UCRC reduce stigma, strengthen community belonging, and promote well-being in academic settings.
As the provincial coordination hub, the University of Calgary provides leadership, training, and resources to campuses across Alberta, while also maintaining an on-campus recovery community that models inclusive, campus member-focused support. Together, this work ensures that recovery is visible, celebrated, and accessible in higher education.
