Biography

Dr. Chantelle Zimmer holds a PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Calgary. Her research integrates her training in the social and health sciences by aiming to inform effective approaches to promoting and sustaining physical activity among younger and older populations through understanding personal and socio-ecological factors that affect their engagement. She uses a variety of theoretical frameworks as well as quantitative, qualitative, and review methodologies. Dr. Zimmer's primary appointment is with the Brenda Strafford Centre on Aging where she supports interdisciplinary aging-related research and training for faculty and students across the University of Calgary.
