Biography
I am an interdisciplinary higher education scholar investigating how artificial intelligence, institutional policy, and unequal knowledge systems are transforming the meaning of academic integrity, learning, authorship, legitimacy, and participation in international higher education. I completed my PhD in Leadership, Policy, and Governance at the University of Calgary’s Werklund School of Education, where my doctoral research examined how academic integrity intersects with epistemic (in)justice and the mental health experiences of international doctoral students. My work bridges Western and Global South epistemologies to develop theory that, without reproducing epistemic inequalities, challenges conventional assumptions about how educational institutions define knowledge, legitimacy, integrity, and evidence—particularly for international and historically marginalized learners. My scholarly work has been published by notable academic presses including Canadian Science Publishing, Springer, Routledge, Bloomsbury, Policy Press, and Oxford Academic. I have authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Academic Ethics, FACETS, and Research Evaluation. I have contributed to handbooks with Springer (Second Handbook of Academic Integrity), Bloomsbury (Handbook of Creative Research Methods), and Routledge (Handbook of Teaching Qualitative and Mixed Research Methods). I serve as an Associate Editor for the International Journal for Educational Integrity and an editorial board member for the Journal of Creative Research Methods.
