Exploring Dopamine's role at the Intersection of Reinforcement and Perceptual Learning
This ongoing project entails a computational approach to understanding dopamine's role in reinforcement and perceptual learning in mice models. Both types of learning are known to drive dramatic changes in neuronal circuits, a process referred to as plasticity. With the use of optogenetics and fiber photometry this project has the potential to unite two widely studied forms of adult plasticity under a shared neurobiological framework.
