Biography

Dr. Ashwani Bhat is a Consultant Neurologist and Associate Professor of Neurology with extensive clinical and academic experience in Neurology. He currently serves at the Department of Neurology, Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun, India. Dr. Bhat completed his DM in Neurology from the prestigious Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata, after earning his MD in Internal Medicine from Government Medical College, Srinagar.

His clinical expertise spans a wide spectrum of neurological disorders, with particular focus on cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, vascular cognitive impairment, post-stroke cognitive dysfunction, and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, mentoring medical trainees, and contributing to academic program development.

Dr. Bhat has a strong research interest in neurocognitive disorders, neuromodulation, and neurorehabilitation. He is an active member of the Indian Academy of Neurology and its Cognitive Neurology subsection, as well as regional neuroscience societies. He is also a member of the Cognitive Neurology Association of India. Through his clinical work, teaching, and research, Dr. Bhat remains committed to advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and management of neurocognitive and neurodegenerative disorders, with the aim of improving patient care and contributing to the evolving field of cognitive neurology.
