Summary of Research

Resource stewardship and patient experience has been at the forefront of my quality improvement research. Previous research has examined access to respiratory care for First Nations people on reserve in Alberta, eliminating unnecessary urine testing on a stroke rehabilitation unit, increasing equitable access to rehab services for people who experience head and neck cancer, and promoting the reuse and recycling of adaptive equipment. Outside of QI and since before medical school, I have longitudinally been involved in research looking to examine the neurophysiological changes in women as they progress from pregnancy to the postpartum period that may put them at a higher risk for postpartum depression.
