Research
Areas of Research
- Comparative, statistical, and personal genomics
- Enabling high through-put inference from large genomic datasets using novel computational, statistical, and bioinformatic approaches
- Predicting the functional impact and clinical significance of sequence variation in individual human genomes
- Molecular evolution
My research interests are chiefly in the areas of computational and statistical genomics. My lab is particularly interested in developing high-throughput computational approaches that will help maximize the utility of large-scale comparative, population, and cancer genome datasets using large-scale inference and modelling paradigms from population genetics. In cancer genomics, we are primarily interested in ways to identify driver genes in tumour-normal samples and in the population genetics and functional evolution of somatic clones.
