Biography

Dr. Andria Morielli is a Lead Scientist in Cancer Prevention and Screening Innovation (CPSI), Division of Public Health Evidence and Innovation (PHEI), Provincial Population & Public Health (PPPH), Alberta Health Services (AHS). Dr. Morielli has multidisciplinary expertise as it relates to oncology including kinesiology, behaviour change theories and interventions, clinical trials, epidemiology, multilevel determinants of health and patient-reported outcomes.

Summary of Research

The goal within CPSI is to conduct applied research to reduce the cancer burden emphasizing settings-based and equitable approaches. In her current role, Dr. Morielli focuses on co-developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based, theory-driven, lifestyle interventions with partners to reduce the risk of developing cancer and improve survivorship after a cancer diagnosis. Utilizing a transdisciplinary approach, she integrates, methods from behavioral science, clinical research, epidemiology, and implementation science into her research.
