Biography

Dr. Feldstain is clinical psychologist specializing in health, trauma, women’s wellbeing, grief, and life transitions. She has been sought by students and colleagues for her experience in interdisciplinary education, skill with complex patient needs, research leadership, and mentorship.

Dr. Feldstain completed her Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa (2015), where she collaborated on an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team supporting people with advanced cancer. She was recruited to Calgary in 2014 for her psychology residency. Over the next 10 years, she worked in psychosocial oncology specializing in palliative care, hematology, and cellular transplant. She was also a leader in the department as the Director of Clinical Training and Education, supporting the recruitment and specialization of interdisciplinary trainees from around the world.

Dr. Feldstain now works in private practice and at the University of Calgary, focusing on quality evidence-based training and intervention. She teaches clinical skills to the upcoming generation of psychologists as both a professor and clinical supervisor. She values the integration of clinical service, research, and education: She uses the clinical literature to inform her interventions, contributes back with clinically-focused research, and brings her skillset in each to provide quality training to future psychologists. This integration has also earned her an adjunct appointment with the Department of Oncology (Cumming School of Medicine) and the Department of Psychology (Faculty of Arts), which helps sustain her ability to integrate these areas of psychology practice.
