Biography
Amir Abolhassani is a Calgary-based biotechnology and agribusiness leader with more than seventeen years of experience spanning oil and gas, industrial biotechnology, and global agricultural biologicals. He specializes in product portfolio strategy, commercialization readiness, and cross-functional execution in innovation-driven environments. In his current role, he leads a global network of experts across R&D, operations, production, quality, regulatory affairs, and marketing to shape portfolio strategy and drive profitable growth.
As a doctoral researcher in the Haskayne School of Business, Amir studies how biotechnology ventures and innovation-driven organizations make commercialization decisions under scientific, technical, manufacturing, regulatory, and market uncertainty. His research focuses on governance of commercialization, evidence-based strategic decision-making, complementary assets, dynamic capabilities, and technology commercialization, with particular interest in agricultural biologicals and life-science innovation.
