Biography

Amir Abolhassani is a Calgary-based biotechnology and agribusiness leader with more than seventeen years of experience spanning oil and gas, industrial biotechnology, and global agricultural biologicals. He specializes in product portfolio strategy, commercialization readiness, and cross-functional execution in innovation-driven environments. In his current role, he leads a global network of experts across R&D, operations, production, quality, regulatory affairs, and marketing to shape portfolio strategy and drive profitable growth.


As a doctoral researcher in the Haskayne School of Business DBA program, Amir is aiming to study how generative AI can augment strategic portfolio management and commercialization processes in BioAg and related biotechnology sectors. His research interests include dynamic capabilities, AI-enhanced decision systems, technology-transfer governance, and the development of adaptive commercialization frameworks for emerging biological technologies.
