Biography
Amelia Potter-Dickey, RN, BN, is a doctoral student (post-candidacy) in the Faculty of Nursing. With a clinical nursing foundation in obstetrics, family health, and pediatrics, Amelia brings an integrative perspective that spans community health nursing and population-based research. Her current research focuses on how children’s genetic variation interacts with the caregiving environment to shape early developmental trajectories and relational outcomes. She is particularly interested in how genotype moderates susceptibility to caregiving influences, and how these insights can inform optimized nursing interventions tailored to individual children and families.
In her role, Amelia engages in teaching, mentorship, and collaborative research initiatives, driven by a commitment to translating genomic and developmental science into actionable nursing practices that promote healthy child development and long-term well-being. Her work contributes to the broader vision of nursing as agents of change—individualizing care, improving health equity, and strengthening families across the lifespan.
