Areas of Research
I see research in health professions education (HPE) as a powerful tool to transform the health care system. My research program spans three main areas which are: competency assessment of healthcare providers, healthcare provider well-being and health equity in population health. I am a pragmatic generalist interested in all facets of health and wellbeing with expertise in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research designs. I believe research should directly benefit the community and my research background is in population health. I also believe it is important to engage community organizations and members to ensure research meets the needs of society at large in a fair and just way.
