Background

Biography

Alexis is from Calgary, Alberta, and is currently pursuing an interdisciplinary doctoral degree in neuroscience and philosophy at the University of Calgary. She holds a Bachelor of Knowledge Integration from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Calgary. Her master’s research focused on post-stroke vision impairment. Specifically, she was interested in eye movement behaviour and quantitative versus standard of care detection of new onset vision impairment after stroke. Her current research interests are quantitative detection of vision impairment, archetypes of impaired eye movement behaviour, and using narrative medicine and phenomonological approaches to improve qualitative detection of vision impairment after stroke.
