Biography
Adem Kantar, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. His research focuses on men and masculinities, gender, education, and mental health. His current postdoctoral research examines male teachers’ experiences and the ways masculinities are constructed and negotiated in everyday school contexts across Canada.

Projects
This nationally funded research project, supported by TÜBİTAK 1002-A in Türkiye, was developed as part of my doctoral research on men and masculinities. The project examined positive and traditional masculinity and their longitudinal relationships with aggression and social-psychological wellbeing among young men. Using longitudinal data, the research aimed to better understand how different forms of masculinity may function as risk or protective factors for men’s wellbeing and positive development. I served as the Principal Investigator of the project.
